A day to myself

I have the whole of today to myself.  All the animals have been fed, electric fencing problem sorted and coffee made.....

I saw the most amazing talent on Facebook this morning
 https://www.facebook.com/helengodfreywire?ref=stream&hc_location=stream
Helen Godfrey makes THE most amazing wire sculpures, I especially love the Geese she has made and vow to purchase one at some point soon.

Anyway, after seeing Helen Godfreys work, it certainly made me feel like I had to up my game from just whizzing out bunting and try to make something a little more involved.

So, I am going to finish the Christmas bunting I nearly finished last night before sleep over-took me

and then I an going to attempt to make a fabric animal.  Watch this space.....

A happy day today as my Sister-in-law has just had another baby (Dylan), so a new member to the family.  Can't get much better than this....

Ok, of to put my head down and get creating.  xxxx

Free Giveaway

Good morning from The Orchard Goose.

Its been a busy few days here. Been getting the hang of running my online advertising through Facebook, Twitter and many more.  I am finding it takes just as long to manage these as it does to make the items I have for sale.

At the moment I have a GIVEAWAY offer of some lovely red and blue bunting.  Its as simple as finding and Liking The Orchard Goose on Facebook, put your name down in the giveaway section and on Friday 27th September I will put all the names in a hat and draw out a winner.

If you are reading this and haven't yet put your name down, not much in life is for free, but this REALLY is. :-)

So today I need to make sure that the house is abit tidier and then get on with my next order in the list which is another 3 metre length of lovely Vintage Bunting.  Inbetween orders I am trying to work on some Christmas ideas, I have lots in my head but need to get on with building up some stock ready for the festive period.

Also on my list is two buckets of produce picked out of the garden.  One of cooking apples and an other full of butternut squashes that need making into a yummy soup.

Too many jobs to do so I had better get on.

I am not sure if anyone is following this blog but if there is anyone out there in the blogosphere it would be lovely if you could leave a comment below at some point, just so that I know if I am rambling away to myself.  :-)

Have a great day

Good Morning

Good morning Blog,

The Orchard Goose happily completed two orders yesterday and now has orders for more bunting, mini bunting and Christmas bunting.  Its all about the bunting at the moment.

I am formulating some new ideas for dolls, oven mitts and a signature fabric goose as well as Christmas goodies.  Just got to wait for the delivery of some more fabric before I can start.

I am also thinking of running a giveaway competition but got to decide what the giveaway will be first??.  (and make it!!)

On the smallholding the lawn around the house is incredibly long so Mr Goose is about to fire up the ride on mower to tackle it, and I have the glorious job of mucking out all the birds.  I have used the rain as an excuse for the last few days but no avoiding it this weekend.

We have been undecide about when to harvest all the apples in the orchard.  Its a fine line between under ripe and sour and ripe but all fallen on the ground and eaten by geese, sheep and all the other feathered friends we have.

Last year we were too eager and harvested them too early, so we are trying to hold our nerve this year, praying for no high winds to send them all to the ground.  Fingers Crossed.

Our lovely neighbouring farm have put some beautiful calves in our 5 acre field this week.  Its so lovely to see them, instead of the millions of rabbits that usually have the run of it.  One day I will look up to see my Jerseys in there, but not for a few years yet.

Enough ramblings for today, I had better get some work done.

Have a wonderful weekend
The OG

Welcome to The Orchard Goose

Welcome to The Orchard Goose

The Orchard Goose is a new small business run from my smallholding in North Dorset.I have always had a passion for all things creative and at the ripe old age of 38, I feel I may as well start trying to earn some pennies from my passion.  Who wouldn't like to get paid doing something they love???.I first created the Orchard Goose as a company on Facebook on the 5th September 2013.I have since signed us up to Twitter, Etsy, Ebay and Folksy and now I thought I would create a blog also.Social networkings sites like Facebook and Twitter will only ever have information to do with the creations that are for sale from The Orchard Goose, but this blog will also encompass my life on our Dorset Smallholding with our menagerie of animals and the daily chaos that ensues. From here on I will attempt to post daily with a mixture of family life and also listing for some of the handmade items I have created that can be purchased from various places.Hopefully eventually I may have someone read my blog, but for now it will serve as a platform to blog my daily ramblings.

Good night new blog xx
